Why drink?
 

In Canada the legal age to drink is 18, and I'm 19 and never drank. What is the point of drinking alcohol?

There is no point it's simply a habbit.

some people only get loose if they drink alcohol.

they cant be partying without it


when i was younger i drank every weekend.
i cant denie it was fun
but if you are drunk you do things you usually wont do when you are sober
but the hangover the next day was the biggest reason i quit drinking.

Most normal drinkers find alcohol to be a good 'social lubricant'. That is, it generally makes people feel more relaxed around others in a social situation.

...and many many more reasons.. however, I'd say that's how many people become introduced to alcohol.

I've never found it appealing either actually.
It's a choice thing. It's legal, so no biggy. I dont try to make people not drink, and they dont try to make me drink, so thats cool.

that is what I'm afraid of, there are happy drunks and angry drunks, and I dont want to find out what kind of drunk I am incase I am an angry drunk.

There are also idiot drunks and you lose respect for them when you see them be morons, lol :)

Drinking has been done throughout time. It is a way for the body to relax. While it is not a good thing to get drunk all the time it does relax the body and allow for creative juices to flow.

Notice:

1. Even the bible speaks of wine.
2. all conventions are done in a place where drinking is available.
3. Doctor reports tell me that a little alcohol introduced to the body in an orderly fashion releieves stress and reduces heart attacks and strokes.

I'm from Alberta, in London Ontario for school.

i only drink sometimes when im out with friends.

i personally love certain alcohols...irish whiskey and beer mainly..doesn't matter if I get drunk or not, i just love to drink em

i dont like the taste of whiskey or vodka

because guinness and whiskey are two of the best tasting things around. mmmm.

Because its more fun to go to a party if you and everybody else is drunk.

i LOVE liqour, the taste is amazing and is a thrist quencher.

well personally I dont like the taste of beer, which is all that poor university kids drink, and I'm not aware of how I'd act as a drunk (nice, angry, or idiot as PR_Tom brought in)

I drink because I like the feeling of being buzzed. Drinking also has a social connotation of sex which is why you see all the singles at the bars after work and the weekends.

if you're hanging out with 'poor university kids' they're most likely getting shitty beer. go get yourself some guinness.

Beer is life...beer is food

Beer is only 1/3 of the food group, make sure you include pizza and Ramen :thumbsup :winkwink:

It also allows you to stomach others. I know red bull/vodka is good but I had a Jager/red bull last night it might even be better.
