What do I need to setup dual monitors?

Besides having 2 monitor (lol) which specs should I have on my PC?

Just get a video card that has a dual monitor output.

Most modern video cards have DVI output - you should be able to get a dongle to convert this to a VGA cable

The dongles are somewhat difficult to locate.

Yes, dual monitor display has nothing to do with the other parts on your cpu except the video card.

Or two grephic cards.

As long as your OS can handle it, just plug and play.

I am SO close to going the dual screen route, i come across a situation where it would come in really handy every now and then. One of these times I'm just going to break down and do it.

Arnette, if my desk was as clean as yours I wouldn't know what to do with myself!

my mess

Plug both monitors in the pc.
Right mouse button - properties - setup - run second screen...

MickeyG 03-08-2005 09:03 AM

its so true, you'll never go back.

I've had dual 15" LCD's for a few years now. I cant wait to upgrade to 19"''s or 21"'s once the prices fall a bit more.

shuki 03-08-2005 09:41 AM

I agree go out and get a matrox card. They are the best cards for the money. Unless you plan on using the setup for gaming the matrox cards are great. Otherwise look for something with a little better graphics capability.

I worked with dual 21" monitors for the longest time, now I have one 17" and itŽs absolutely horrible!! I need my monitors!!!

Barefootsies 03-08-2005 09:54 AM

Get a big ass monitor, or adjust your res, then get a video card (I have NVidia GForce 4 MX 4000) which supports this, but I am sure some of their higher end cards do as well.

:pimp
