I read an article a while back about the kiosks that you use at the airports. They use them in FLA but it is in store now.
|
they started doing it a long time ago in certain areas. a really good idea, and no, its not to india. they take pics of the car and driver as they make the order, then the guy they outsource it to puts the info in and when you pull around, they have the correct order matched to your car.
i'm sure it works better that way, they probably don't hire mexicans to do the drive-thru phone work, so they know there's a difference between "no pickle" and "extra pickle" however, the kitchen guys, well, it's still a gamble. one of many reasons I don't eat their garbage. |

i think they already outsource i can never understand what the mexicans say
|
Who's that raghead in your sig? :helpme

Isn't outsourcing about exploiting cheap labor. They already have a bunch of illegals working. What their probably up to is setting up a BS company saying they hire them. This way if they get busted for illegals they can say they don't work for them. They work for the BS company.

Is it possible to outsource my wife..that would save me a hell of a lot of cash..and l wouldnt mind if the job went to a nice asian or mexican hottie .If so ..l.m all for outsourcing :1orglaugh

I believe they are using the former Paypal employees that were fired from the Omaha CSC.

I'm already used to the outsourced tech support I get.
|
From what I read a couple months ago, a franchisee in some midwestern state (Kansas?) set up a sort of "call center" for his McDonald's stores, so that instead of having drive-thru customers talk with someone onsite, they were patched through to a small office of order-taking specialists offsite. A franchisee in another state liked the idea and contracted order-taking to the franchisee who set this up.
It sounds like a good idea to me. Pooling resources for several restaurants should allow better utilization of the order takers, particularly if the call center covered multiple time zones to smooth out the peak ordering periods (e.g. noon). Specialization and focus (not having to count change and pour drinks while talking) should lead to better service. In theory anyway...McD's is famous for experimenting, and allowing franchises to experiment...if it makes sense, it will spread. |
The Mexican workers at my McD's can't ever figure out what anyone's ordering. Outsourcing it to fellow rednecks in Kansas sounds perfect :)

That's a good innovation. :1orglaugh

trust me it will be no time they will outsource it to india. Ever try to talk to one of them for a tech question? Wait til you have to spell out your whole order. They should do it touch screen , you drive up touch what you want pay the machine and drive to a window.

If McDonald's outsourcing has any effect on your daily routine, it's time to re-evaluate
:pimp |

They are already doing it here in STL. Outsourcing to call centers in Florida, etc... to handle all drive-thru customers. Hardees is big about it... seems to be doing very well for all of them that are taking part.
