Florida webmasters, weather question

Hi , r there any fellow webmasters here from Florida - Clearwater area?
Have a question for ya about the summers there.

I've been planning to spend a beach holiday there this coming august aug 12th till sept. 2nd. How is the weather in that period of the year? Would you recommend it weather wise?

Your in the peak of the hurricane season, I live in Central Florida and the end of the season brings them in from the gulf....no worries tho...it is humid tho and bugs at night but it has alot of positives.

thanks.

yeah, that period being in the hurricane season kinda got me worried, but since I've read that the other side of florida is more often in the path my hopes are up for a reasonably safe holiday.

btw is it humid because of rainfall or because of the high tempatures?

thanks man. i like how that sounds. We kinda worried that we won't have it as great as we expect it to be in Florida. We're counting on 3 weeks of sunshine and fun on the beach with the kids. The worry started when a neighboor said to my wife "are you really going to florida in august? well, better bring your umbrella and prepare for a huricane then"

So I need some possitive thoughts

btw what part of florida are you in?

August/September are generally florida's worst weather months IMO. Not necessarily because of the rain, but due to the high heat and humidity. It is also the rainy season, but the rain usually consists of showers in the late afternoon (around 4:00) due to the convection caused by the heat. For the most part, the days are bright, sunny, and hot.

It's true that its also hurricane season, but with the exception of last year, there generally aren't many storms that hit FL.

thanks for the input guys!

I guess it always will be a risk with the weather were ever you go.

Based on the input and our expectations (we both like hot sunny weahter), I think we will just take our changes and book ourselves that beach condo in Clearwater (with wireless internet @ the poolside :) )

worst weather season is aug sept

mid 90's -

humidity is also around 90%

hot as hell

dont listen to the hurricane bullshit.

yes late aug is the begining of the hurricane season.
but the middle of sept to the end of oct is really the height of the hurricane season

its RARE that a hurrucane comes through as early as aug - yes we had them last year and its RARE that we got them that early - NEVER do you see 3 come one right after the other like you did last year either.
