Get a Free Blackberry 7730 (link)

ok i never buy anything from a spam email but i looked at this offer to check it out because im really looking to buy a Blackberry 7730.

so i clicked

http://www.ushopwireless.com/wireles...ry_7730_M M02

and read the terms.

its through t-mobile, whom i was going to get the service through anyways.

im trying to figure out their angles and too see where i could get fucked. i called the phone number and asked a bunch of questions and everything sounds kosher..

what is your opinion on this..

the company is called VENICOM which is the reseller and you get your phone shipped to you and you just pay the shipping and get the bill from T-Mobile.

discuss

Looks pretty legit, this is the main site I found from Google: http://www.ushopwireless.com/wireles...ndex.php?oc=SS

It does seem a little too good to be true to be honest though, a $500 blackberry and you only have to be locked into a contract for just 1 year seems a little too good but from the looks of a few searches done on Venicom they do seem legit.

PS: If you do buy this offer, do us a favour and don't buy from the spammers refcode, use the direct site. Don't encourage spammers :)

Do you think it is safe to send them the info they require via their web form?

They did have a SSL connection on that page but still a bit leary.

Bump for more input

Dalai lama 03-25-2005 02:28 PM

Looks like you have to pay per month ect. Just regular stuff, nothing special.

shuki 03-25-2005 02:31 PM

shuki 03-25-2005 03:28 PM

I filled out the first part online but want to give them my 04 number instead of SS and want to do that via the phone. I tried once today but was waiting for a while. They must be busy :)

I'll post after I speak to someone

Update.

I Placed my order on Thursday or Friday of last week. I honestly do not recall the exact day. The guy on the phone said I will recieve the package in 2 business days. It is now wed and I called customer service to check up on the status. Now all of a sudden they can't locate the package.

Well the first thing that comes to my mind is the old saying. If it looks to good to be true then.....

I am assuming it will never come.

Off to the store to pay for one I go.

Second update.

I put in a phone call and found out that my blackberry was in fact delivered to my Boston office. I asked them to send it out to me here in LA but they some how messed that pasrt up. The good news is that a supervisor credited $20 back to my CC and I am having someone in Boston Fedex me the blackberry and it will be here in the morning.

Looks like they are legit but let me get it hooked up and in my hands before everyone signs up :winkwink:

NaughtyRob 03-31-2005 11:17 AM

Today is the last day. I just ordered one.
:thumbsup

badmunchkin 03-31-2005 12:23 PM

They also have the 7100T - you buy it today for $100 and get a mail-in rebate for $100 - 7100T is supposed to be a better phone and with bluetooth :thumbsup

xclusive 03-31-2005 12:35 PM

awesome offer thanks for the heads up

shuki 04-01-2005 01:24 PM

ok final update

I just recieved my crakberry in the mail. I had someone at my office in Boston send it to me here in LA.

Just took it out of the box and I am setting it up now :thumbsup

The offer is legit. The stipulation on the offer is if you cancel service before 120 days they will charge you the full price of the device.

Great offer.

Thanks to Rob for pointing it out to us :thumbsup

badmunchkin 04-13-2005 12:51 AM

JFK 04-13-2005 01:13 AM

sounds good I had to sign up for 3 years to get a 1/2 decent price on my 7290 :disgust

shuki 04-13-2005 08:25 AM

The offer is legit but to be honest I am returning my berry because I prefer the feel of a windows OS. I am going to get an OQO I think instead.

Thats exactly my problem with this blackberry.

Project-Shadow 04-13-2005 09:58 AM

Thats how most of the phones in the U.K are sold. You pay no money / little money [£10-50] for the new top of the range phone, but you're locked into a contract with them for 12 months, so they get their monies worth, and if you can't cancel.. and odds are most people will stay on because they have their number with that provider. Genius heh.

Veterans Day 04-13-2005 10:03 AM

so what do you guys recommend as far these type of phones are concerned. Palm, Blackberry etc...???
