only time would tell how that would end up....

Sad news, man, it's extremely dangerous to be a journalist there ...

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 03-29-2005 02:44 AM

WTF are Romanian journalists doing in Iraq? Actually, I didn't even know that there were Romanian journalists. Guess, there must be though, just never thought about it.

Now if they kidnapped some nubile Romanian gymnasts, now that would be a story.

So what are the kidnappers demanding?

Don't tell me the Romanians were foolish enough to send a token amount of troops there...

Hmm...maybe they'll demand some nubile Romanian gymnasts. If so, then this story will get real exciting fast.

Hope all turns out well for them

ITG-Obi 03-29-2005 03:18 AM

well let's hope for their safety.. it's all we can do. But they are brave to be there just to get the story. Anyway, it's their life to give the news and i admire people who loves their job and would do anything just to do it right.

it's gonna be another intensive negotiation. time will tell.

You were obviously in a good mood when you posted this, however, given the circumsatnces, its rather sick and disgusting. :disgust One of them is a woman btw.

I apologize if I came off as insensitive.

My humor, which hopefully you can see that's what I was aiming at, can sometimes be quite dark.

It's a way some of us cope with a world gone mad. If I was serious I would have ripped off some diatribe such as, they deserve what they get for putting themselves in harms way, or the opposite, that's why we need to slaughter more Iraqi people who disagree with our occupation of their country, or seek a different future for their people (living half a world away from my country) than what the current U.S. Administration seeks to impose upon them.

Yes, I've read about it, 830 Romanian troops in Iraq...here is the first news post on this subject in this thread...

Romanian Journalists Missing In Iraq

I think the whole war is a travesty.

I think the circumstances that the U.S. has helped create are rather sick and disgusting. No WMD, no bin Laden, little if any connection to 9/11, helping inadvertantly build a Shiite fundamentalist majority that may side with Iran and ultimately go after Saudi Arabia, rising oil prices, all bogging us down in the Middle East for years to come, and domestically the Social Security scam, etc...that's what I call sick and disgusting.

But no, let's focus on Terri Schiavo's plight.

I'm very sorry about all of the needless suffering and cruelty that has occured every day in Iraq since the U.S. "liberated" it.

Lots of journalists and women and children and soldiers and others have all been killed, or seriously injured (both physically and psychologically) - I'm sorry for it all.

Hopefully the Romanian journalists (male and female alike) will not be killed by Iraqi extremists, and hopefully if they are liberated they won't be shot at or killed at a U.S. checkpoint.

Is that serious enough for you? Or should I take sides and argue ad naseum on an adult webmaster board without making a difference like many do?

I choose other more effective forums to apply my politics in.

If you think venting at me makes a difference, go ahead. You may think so, but I really do not think that I am your enemy.

War sucks.

Peace.

Journalists or Refugees?

Either way it is better than what they left.

OMG, I really took it all out on you, didn't I? I'm sorry about that, your humor was pretty dark, true, and I had the image of their family members, as I saw them on the news, fresh in my mind. So yes, that post seamed insensitive at that time. However, I understand the reasons behind it, after all, humor is one of the few resources we have left. :)
I don't know if the war is right or wrong, its not my call to decide, all I know is that I felt sorry for each and every young american soldier who died in Iraq, as well as for all the innocent victims of the war. And the number is still growing every day.
I live in Romania, further on, I live in Timisoara, which is the town where the romanian revolution started and where the blood bath took place. So I know that its unlikely for a dictator to go down peacefully. Maybe the iraqui ppl couldn't find the strength to start this in themselves, maybe they needed american help, somehow I don't believe that everything about this war was wrong.
Its the outcome of the war that bothers me and the increasing number of victims. I think about their families and friends and the pain they are all going through. Its tragic and shocking and painful when someone dies so young, I know how it feels, cos I lost my best friend two years ago in a carcrash. So yes, I hate the war too, my reasons may be different, but I hate it just as much as you do.
I know little about politics, however I believe in democracy, I believe in what you ppl call "the american way". I think the system is right, maybe its the ppl behind the system, who screwed things up.
That being said, thanks for posting again, appologies accepted and its my turn to appologize for taking it out on you like that. :)
