Should YOU be penalised for Chargebacks?

Some sponsors will 'charge' you, or take back the signup $ paid to you.

What do you think? Is it fair? Should they penalise you the webmaster or is this something they should worry about?

I have mixed feelings on this. I understand the deduction. There is no way they should eat the money for every asshat that charges back after downloading 1/2 the content, however, if the surfer is charging back because the site really sucks, well, that isn't the affiliates fault. Bottom line, if sponsor "A" has a lot of chargebacks, move on to sponsor "B".

does it really make any difference?

I see no problem with splitting CBs or credits on a partnership, because that's the nature of the relationship... split the good and the bad...

But per signups that do this, is a little less on the level... The whole point of PPS is to eat the bad ones, and benefit from the good ones to balance them out paying a flat fee... So if a sponsor only pays for the good ones and burns you for CBs or refunds they are really just taking you to the barbershop for a nice shave...:pimp

It's the only way to keep affiliate advertising honest. If an affiliate has a lot of chargebacks then it is probably because he/she is mis-representing the sites in some way. I rarely have any chargebacks and I promote several programs (maybe once every three months).

What if the surfer sees a gallery with content that is not in the site, but he joined the site hoping to see the full set for that girl. Is that the sponsor's fault or the affiliate's fault?

As has been stated if the site has a lot of chargbacks move on.

Well, I think when an affiliate did send a member who did chargeback, we can deduct that money we paid from the same affiliate. We know our memberarea's are good, and fast. Of course we can pay some chargebacks, but I'm afraid when ppl know, ahh those guys even pay on chargebacks, all cheaters will come to us, and start pushing us, with crap.

Once the surfer hits the site it's entirely up to the sponsor to make it work IMO.

Saying that, I think if you are going to penalise a webmaster for sending shitty traffic on PER SIGNUP, you should be rewarding them for sending GOOD CLEAN traffic. I know pimpinpays does reward healthy traffic :pimp
