I got this error toinght after I tried putting in a regular ps2 game

i tried google and it was all answers for people who have modded there ps2's

Looks like your laser is gone.. you will likely have to get a new drive or replace your system. Better do it while you can because Sony has been ordered to stop producing the PS2, because of a patent infringement case.

Why did you have to specify "REGULAR" PS2 game?

Don't use modchips and you should be fine.

i have a slimline and had 1 problem (just bought it 3-4 months ago). it frooze in the middle of playing GTA: San Andreas :(

newer ps2's (v9+) have laser problems. Modchip or not, in due time the laser wil wear out and will need replacing. If its still under warranty send it back and have it fixed for free. Otherwise ull need a new laser, which u can get on ebay for about 50$.

the slimlines are a piece of shit... lasers are absolutely horrid... just remember if you buy a playstation or any sony game product be prepared for it to fuck up...

Yup. Even older version of PS2 had some serious laser issues, but the slim ones are even crappier.
