Na thats definatley not hard house. I would call that progressive trance or progressive house. Too fast for hard house and too melodic.

sorry, i meant to say UK Hard House...forgot to add the UK in there

US hard house is shit

anything with that many rave type samples and a trance drum line falls into the hard house category....

and that is NOT progressive house or progrssive trance by a LONG shot...i mean LONG

nah, i don't spin trance at all...used to back when it was underground, but now that it is radio music it became real cheesy

progressive funky breaks and big room house is what I love to spin

I have records from every genre though...

I used to be a battle dj back in the day...qbert, mixmaster mike style...was in a few competitions...but now I love dance music

i would love to do this...i have been throwing parties in the rave scene for years...i have an excellent promotion resume :)

you got me thinking now..i wonder if any sponsor would like to throw down for a rave style party....i have excellent dj connections too, i could get some major talent for a fraction of the price

Back in 2000 I was pretty tight with Danny Tenaglia. I used to ask him all types of stupid questions. You would be surprised at what is progressive house and what is not. DJ Corbett and I chat on aim twice a month and I ask him all the time what specific records he spins is what specific genre. I'm not saying you dont know what you're talking about, I'm just saying I do.
Check out http://www.djcorbett.com/music/Corbe...rHallPart1.ram The entire mix is mainly progressive house with some tribaly progressive stuff. This pretty much NYC style house in a nut shell.
Cheers

um...i spin progressive house/breaks...LOL...i went through a shitload of samples before I arrived on that...nyc has a different sound than most places...and i know it sounds wierd, but every city I dj in has a different idea of what each genre is...like when I spin LA, people classify some of my music as nu skool breaks, but here in atlanta they call it funky progressive...
progressive is such a generic label anyway...there are so many things that can be progressive and trance at the same time...same with tribal and progressive

i live 2 miles from satellite here in atlanta, and they are HORRIBLE at labeling (which is why I played those tracks and found ones that matched the genre)....
actually, they are the WORST at labelling in the world..I have been to over 150 record shops across the country and they top the cake...you can find trance labeled house, and breaks labeled trance

but here in atlanta, those samples I pasted above match the genre to a tee...
