I would have to agree...But if IE is your only comparison then thats hardly even fair....Thats like saying, would you rather have dial up or broadband......Hmm, i like broadband cuz of the cool modem noises at the begining...makes me feel like a hacker

It's better than IE by a mile, but I still like NN over it.

Netscape

Firefox continues to be the market testing for Microsoft, without Microsoft having to spend any money on development.

have you tried SlimBrowser? http://www.flashpeak.com/sbrowser/

Slight difference. In my opinion, all three (Firefox, Mozilla, and Netscape) are much safer browsers than Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Maybe i'm missing something, but I use Netscape on my PC and FF on my Laptop, and Netscape does everything FF does except for one thing, it doesn't crash as often.

FF is the popular browser now so i'm sure people will say how amazing it is, and compared to shitty IE, it is.. but it just isn't as reliable as Netscape which rarely crashes on me.

FireFox is a really good browser. However we have to wait a bit to make sure it as safe as we think it should. For now FireFox is not yet so hardly targeted for exploit and virus makers as IE. That's why it seem to be more secure - not too many hackers are inpsecting it for security lacks. The situatin may change when more surfers will move to FireFox. Time will show...

Firefox sucks. After getting slammed with a bunch of virus crap, I moved over to Firefox. Firefox shouldn't even be released to the public at this point:
- It fucks up pages
- It crashes on me daily. No kidding. Once a day.
- It fails to work correctly with frames.
- It has this download feature that sucks and keeps putting shit I download in places I don't want it.

I will admit, however, the tabs feature is neat.

I hope that Firefox becomes the defacto standard - so that everyone will write virus crap for Firefox and not IE.

Glad to see i'm not alone with FF crashing all the time. I do like Firefox because whatever they have for marketing is working, since it's pulling a lot of people off IE which is cool. IE sucks a big one. Maybe more site designers will not just focus on IE when building sites, they'll look at it from a Mozilla based browser.

Same here FF is crashing all the time. I hope it will get better soon.

spideriux 04-13-2005 02:43 PM

yeah firefox is da best.

nmcog 04-13-2005 03:06 PM

Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape all use the same HTML rendering engine (Gecko)
They are just packaged differently.

Just like all the billions of Linux distributions.

tony286 04-13-2005 03:07 PM

firefox rocks I would never use explorere again
