guitar players / recording pros...
i want to start recording some stuff i've written on the electric, but directly line-in (without an amp) to my computer... i want the ability to record with a range of different effects (like a pedal)... multi-tracks... and it'd be nice if i would be able to add in drums (software)..
what is the best software for this sort of thing? |
My brother uses Adobe Audition and he loves it.

I recommend reposting on a forum like Audio Forums Because GFYers aren't really about music. :)

Okay bro - assuming you have a pretty good PC or Mac already, for a couple grand you can have a studio on level with what would have cost a million only a decade ago:
1) Recording Software - http://www.steinberg.net/Steinberg/defaultb0e4.html Check out Cubase to record and Wavelab for mastering. 2) Drum Tracks - http://www.guitar.sk/drums/drums_main.htm or http://www.leafdigital.com/software/leafdrums/ 3) Going direct with you guitar - http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?guitarrig_us -- If you wanna hear an example of a recording using this equipment: http://www.marktiarra.com/mp3/kylesmiles.mp3 |
I should ad you need a good soundcard for music too. Not a Audigy or something like that but a real music soundcard like:

Music is a whole different language to me. BUMP!
