Sorry but I think it's true, you took a chance... like buying a used Beamer for $2000 and it blew up. No warranty can be a bitch. It's looked nice like his prices but you have to know something wrong somewhere. And sure enough 90% of the time it is.

I don't mean to be rude and sorry if it comes this way, but there are costs to provide a good hosting service. A certain amount needs to be brought in to maintain a high level of service and his prices where no where near it. There had to be a weak point somewhere.
