What happens if I file my taxes late?
 

i wont be able to file my taxes until next week. anyone know how much the irs would penalize me for filing a week late?

damn they charge for that? here theyll send a note like 3 months later. I paid my personal taxes like 10 months too late lol

Ditto -This is what I have to do. I gave my tax info to my accountant 6 weeks ago and they still are not done with it. Bastards.

If you file for extension the fines are not too bad. I think they only charge interest, perhaps .5% per month or something around there.

the IRS will kill your pets

It depends if you owe or are getting a refund. If you owe you will pay a penalty with interest, if you are entitled to a refund it doesnt matter.
