Will Myspace put traditional Dating Sites out of business?
It seems so many people are hooking up off of the myspace site. I've met a few hotties on there myself.
Why should people subscribe to match.com or AFF when they can meet people for free on myspace? Not to mention it's a much more relaxed, fun environment then any of those sites - it actually seems easier to meet people because it's not under the pretenses of being a dating site. Discuss. |
you are right ;)

how old is myspace?
|
Maybe less so with AFF :winkwink: (no offense was meant to those guys) since it's a site geared exclusively towards no-strings casual sex.
But yahoo, match, matchmaker, lavalife, eharmony and the rest I think are in serious trouble - since everyone and their uncle seems to be popping up on myspace lately. :pimp :2 cents: |
Do you know Hi5.com , it's very popular here in Portugal and makes me wonder the same thing.

I think to dismiss it as a kids site is pretty short-sighted. |
well more friendster/myspace-type sites will be coming out and if theyre smart they'll charge a fee for premium accounts. those sites are different than dating sites though, its more of a friends / blogging site rather than pure dating.

its simple.. ppl are tired of being fucked over by shady dating sites. the users flock to the free shit. if u start to charge, another social network site will pop up and not charge and the users will flock...
the business model... or the money is made by the advertising, meaning the eyeballs. not subscriptions. |
