I'll get my first Dual Opteron on Monday

Dual Opteron 244 w/ 2 GB RAM and SCSI.

Always had P3/4 & Athlons in the past.

I took Centos 32bit, should I have taken the 64 bit version?

I don't run Cpanel but need PHP. Seems like there are issues with PHP & Centos_64?

It is actually a 64 bit processor but runs 32 bit applications as well, and quite fast.

It's never too late to get an OS reload.

And there is little info on the Centos64 bit compatibility with the usual apache, php, mysql etc setup.

I have no doubt about the hardware specs. According to ALL tests I've seen Dual Opteron blows Dual Xeon out of the water (in apache/php/mysql performance, but not in video encoding)
