EEK ! my printer just turned into a BBQ !?
 

Gosh, I just had quite a scary experience : while printing some PHP-related stuff, my printer, an Epson C900 (you might know them, one of the cheaper color-laserprinters; it's a large tower, tho) litterally blew up. It started smoking and the smell was like a burning skyscraper. It's all black inside and there's toner spread all over the floor (only black dust, so it makes me think that only the black toner cartridge blew up). A few minutes after the explosion, the toner kept coming out of the box through the ventilation holes - never seen that before... never wanna see that again...

My hands and parts of the white wall are all black now; soap doesn't seem to help right away.

Shall I send it back for repair ? Not sure if I'll ever want this machine next to me anymore... :(

better be carefull not to breath on that toner. Highly dangerous

Dude be very fucking careful toner is very bad for your lungs etc. I would call those fuckers and tell them they better send out someone to clean the fucking mess because you didn't do shit to make the printer blow up.

i can still remember the smell of that burning printer when my boss accidentally
plug in to the wrong voltage. sucks

Put it on Ebay as slightly damaged.

I would do some research on this. Contact the place you bought it from and fill them in with what happened. They may want to accomodate you.
