Ask me anything about the AVS/AEN biz for the next 10 Minutes...

I will answer.
Maybe even longer if my Ambien doesn't kick in.

Rorschach 05-02-2005 11:28 PM

SleazyDream 05-02-2005 11:28 PM

ry0t 05-02-2005 11:29 PM

I paid a fricken lot, tried to write a lot of things off but no luck. I wrote them a hefty check. I hated it. But had to do what I had to do.

There is so much money to be made in AVS sales, Buy traffic from reliable sources, search engines, links list. Some work best by trading AVS sites from other AVS Companies. Mix and Match.

L0stMind 05-02-2005 11:32 PM

is there still money to be made ? :)

Tons of it. Don't be fooled by others say there can't
I am proof that there is.
I started this in 96. and it keep getting better and better. Maybe have slowed down a bit, but has not dropped. There is so much potential in this biz.

We are revamping our GAY AVS as we speak. Totalaly new make over, new payouts and top notch content.

naitirps 05-02-2005 11:37 PM

does your gay avs's/aen's out perform your regular straight ones? if so by how much percentage wise?

Jakke PNG 05-02-2005 11:38 PM

Will you give my (new to web-side of business) employee a place to put her avs's which she will learn to build with 0 knowledge of websites, give her a place to host her moviegalleries that will most likely burn more bandwidth than they earn you, atleast in the beginning? :)

2HousePlague 05-02-2005 11:38 PM

How do you share AVS membership revenues with the participating sites? Is it a straight division of the affiliate cut by the number of participants? Or do you pro-rate or give "weighting", somehow, for other factors?

Oracle Porn 05-02-2005 11:40 PM

ry0t 05-02-2005 11:41 PM

Brujah 05-02-2005 11:43 PM

Would you ever pull an Adultcheck move and kill off your webmasters ?

pr0 05-02-2005 11:44 PM

Yea for real....are you guys as good as Oneverify was? If so i'll fucking rock some sox

Kimmykim 05-02-2005 11:45 PM

Would past litigation you went through have perhaps helped you to find forward thinking ideas and processes that you might not have found otherwise? Did these ideas finally give you an edge over the competition?

Rorschach 05-02-2005 11:46 PM

are you the biggest AVS? how does that make you feel?

Brujah 05-02-2005 11:47 PM

pr0 05-02-2005 11:47 PM

er i mean AEN's.

uno 05-02-2005 11:50 PM

Do you know who made "the call" with Adultcheck? You are good friends with Marty, no?

uno 05-02-2005 11:50 PM

How many sites do you allow per template? Regular? Premium?

Correct me if I'm behind the times here, but wouldn't payouts and tracking be based on site performance?

We do all of our own processing in house, merchant banks don't allow the free processing. We keep what is safe and legal and that's what keeps us strong.

uno 05-02-2005 11:51 PM

How is CyberAge different than it was say 3 years ago?

Rorschach 05-02-2005 11:52 PM

what's your average retention?

I have seen some for 3 months, but I also have in our system for over 5 years. So for an average, I would say 8 - 10 months. The gay sites longer.

are you guys legally allowed to call yourselves AVS? That whole AEN thing always made me giggle.

A rose by any other name...

Oh, I thought someone who worked for Cyberage had worked for Netmore, not in a site making capacity. Who knows, it was a long time ago.

Semi-Retired-Dave 05-02-2005 11:58 PM

I think that is all I can handle until I wake up. We Can continue this tomorrow once my pills wear off.

Good night.

Don't mind all the spelling errors, blame them on Ambien.

That's one way -- in which case, the answer to my question would be -- "Based on Utilization".

There are other models.

Fine, avoid the goats right to vote issue, just like the rest of the politicians.

There may be other models but porn as we know it doesn't work in a communistic philosophy. Either pay up or shut up lol ;)

Oooooh -- a little right-wing venom in there, Kim -- :)

What are you reading these days?

It's one thing to insist a site hold its own in the open marketplace. But I'm just talking about B2B business terms here.

Kimmy Coulter ? :'( Say it isn't so.

You know, earlier in this thread I had a flashback to a conversation in Phoenix. Now I am thinking that my flashback was dead on.

I seem to recall ending the conversation with, "well, if you can make me millions, I am always open to suggestions." Or something like that.

Haha, nothing too right wing, just simple economics. Of course I still think Ayn Rand has a place in heaven ;)

I just read a really amazing book, The curious incident of the dog in the night-time. British author, exceptionally intriguing writing style, imo.

Also reading a book called Total Loss, about sailboats sunk at sea... I figure as much racing as I'm doing lately, I might as well be prepared lol... especially since a boat sank during the Wednesday night races two weeks ago here in the Marina.
