Does anybody use plugins and make any money from them?

What plugins do you use?

No idea what you're talking about...please explain for those of us who aren't "hip" :thumbsup

What i mean is by plugin is a link that you put in a members area which gives extra content to help retain members, while selling them something which makes you money via another site promoting somebodys products.

No they do not. They actually cost us money most of the time.

The question really depends upon your business model. For us they made no more money and created 99% of our customer support issues. We took them all down and have never looked back.

I think you mean an 'upsell' right? A plugin doesn't sell them anything, it just provides extra content (it costs the webmaster money to have the plugin placed on the site). An Upsell can provide content but it is there to get current members to buy more things (and it's free for the webmaster).

Upsells can work very well.

Do not work for us.....

I know there's quite a few sites that make money from Porn DVD Dollars free upsale plugin... :thumbsup

if you man feeds you pay for that also have upsell option liek "buy this dvd" or watch as a full movie then dont expect t get rich from it ;)

Some plugins do cost money but some are free, www.uniqueplugins.com are free and upsell to high converting products.

If they are used right on the relevant sites then they can make people a lot of money.
