For the lives and hard effort your courageous people gave liberating The Netherlands from Hitlers troops.

I also like to remember the brave people of the Dutch resistance, whos lives were in danger during the whole fascist occupation, that many of them didn't live to see it come to an end.

And let us not forget the millions of jews who has been slaughtered in the concentration camps. As well as the many gipsy's and gays.

Today, the 4th of may, is remembrance day here in the Netherlands. The day we remember -and take a moment to think about- the precious people who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom.

Polish soldiers were in the frontline of the liberation of The Netherlands (especially a province called Zeeland), and many of them have given their lives for that.

This great thread is a good reminder to anyone from the U.K that we have a general election on Thursday. Please vote, it doesnt matter who for. But these men died so we have the right to vote. Its so very important we dont forget that.
