Cam Software Packages - Developers ?
what is most popular?
who is using what? |
before the usual characters start spamming and beg you to just use their system, i will give my opinion...
Use flash/macromedia and build it yourself. you will not be happy with anything else if you want to have control over features, functions, source code etc. every "turn key" system is shit and innadequate and like most overpriced software, is nothing more than a programmers idea of what someone wants in a business that he has no real understanding of. :2 cents: |
We're just wrapping up development of one using Flash Communication Server for the cam2cam, mic2mic, and chat. It includes a pay per view system as well...really the ultimate cam script. Hit up my icq if you're interested and we can arrange a demo for you
That goes for anyone as well... |

no matter how cool you think what you have is... you are too naive to know that it is innadequate in every way, shape and form. just because you got some programmers to create a video chat system that can bill for minutes and count down to zero, doesn't mean you know anything about the business. I have been there plenty of times and i have tried almost every piece of video software that has ever been made as well as at least half a dozen "turn key" systems which always turn out to be a joke. in the end, you will always be at the mercy of someones buggy piece of shit software that is innadequate, never updated and has piss poor support. what do you offer....? spam away about your knowledge your software and experience. what about YOUR customer support? is it 24/7? what happens when your buggy, unstable software crashes at 1am on Friday and you are not online until monday? in fact, how soon can you answer any customer support issue? in minutes? seconds? days? Everyone promises great customer support and it is almost always a lie and costs the customer money. how do you manage billing? billing through your own merchant account and multiple IPSP's? how do you manage fraud? how do you manage/track/ban fruadulent users? what about model stats? quality control? site stats? sales stats? user stats? video server stats? trouble ticket/customer support system for users? Can you manage all the computers remotely (video quality, frame rates)? I am sure you could go on for days about how you have it all figured out being a web designer and all... so please let us know about your software. :winkwink: |
