Backordering a domain?
Does backordering a domain on Pool or Enom alert other users to its expiration? i.e. are all backorders automatically added to the relevant expiring today emails and lists? Or do they keep backorders private?
|
I think anyone who actually follows expiring/deleting domains knows that they are expiring via their alerts whether you backorder it or not
|
Thats a fair point but lets assume they didn't know about this one, they can't know about every single domain name surely.

Backorders are noticed by large lists consisting of 10,000-30,000 names per day.

You used to be able to backorder domains easily on snapnames and pool. If you backorderd first, it was yours if snapnames or pool got it. Now once they get it, you have to bid against everybody else that wants the same domain. It seems that backordering and actually getting the domain always costs $1k or more nowadays :Oh crap

Many domain names go for way more than what most would say they are worth. Its a very risky game
