How's the market for adult stories?

Anyone willing to share some knowledge?
I'm curious about both ideas on the demand out there and average prices when buying/selling stories.

I don't know about pricing but I would buy more niche based stories, most of the product out there is general.

The only problem with selling stories is keeping them protected. It's a lot easier to protect images then words!

If you want to buy niche based stories then talk to us - we write very niche specific stories for just about every niche out there.

If you think you can write stories then again, talk to us, because we are always looking for good writers.

But the emphasis is on 'good' for every 10 that apply we are lucky to choose 1 because we like to provide our clients with quality work and there are many out there who think they can write but obviously can't.

Oh ... and the demand for stories is big but you have to be able to supply quality because the market doesn't want the sort of crap that fills up some of the free story sites out there.

And then there are people that write in long run on sentences without using punctuation and without having any real reason to write in a run on sentence talking about things and making the reader keep reading without taking a mental breath or break for a very long time and at the same time emphasizing twice that they only accept the best writers but themselves seem to be grammatically challenged and I thought that was kind of funny and self defeating that they would say dont bother us with bad stories in the same topic as if you shouldnt even try to write to them to find out if you can write because maybe they think they can keep the story business all to themselves and not allow other people to write anything for anybody.

You know, or something like that.

You have a point - and I guess I'm just jaded because I see so many people who promote themselves as writers and so obviously can't.

Sex Story Text isn't in the business of training people to write although we do give tips to people who have potential and Marie has written about writing for the Web on several occasions in another place. So if somebody doesn't understand the need for paragraphs or can't write without continually using 'and then' we don't want them.

But if they can write - and write from experience - then we certainly can use them and pay them a much better price for their work than most brokers can offer.

So thanks for encouraging me to clarify what I said earlier :thumbsup

I've noticed lately everyone is focusing on pics & videos, ignoring other adult markets that used to make money too. stories and games are some of them

zentz 05-11-2005 06:42 PM

i would concetrate on videos

There are some very good writers out there.

Too often, I see a story section inside a members' area and it looks like shit.
Be creative with stories. First off, stop offering five bucks a story to those who really do know how to write.

Secondly, try incorporating images or video clips with the story. Give the guys something to read and look at, while they are jacking off. Picture stories rock.

Sex-story-text.com - good niche writers. It's one of the few places I send people who are asking for stories.
