It is usually a little below and I mean little in a relative way... So a 200K tgp might be 160K on Alexa and a 10K tgp would be 6 or 7K on Alexa...

I wouldnt use alexa to gauge traffic at all. As noted above it only tracks people that have the toolbar installed and you can EASILY inflate numbers on sites.

yeah, the results ONLY show people that alexa toolbar installed...and if the person runs ANY sort of anti-spyware programs, those remove alexa instantly

the results are extremely flawed and not very accurate...i have one site that only get 100 uniques a day, but alexa shows it at 350,000...but I have another site that gets 3500 uniques a day and alexa shows it at 475,000....and this has all been steady traffic for months

i don't trust alexa one bit, and honestly, when people show their alexa stats in threads and make a point to "show off" their alexa stats, i laugh and think to myself how idiotic they are...

the problem lies herein: it is the ONLY site on the internet that shows such stats with ANY sort of reliability or guesstimate....so, we are sort of stuck with it

it is fairly accurate, but no I agree with everyone it should not be used as the only guage, although there really isn't anything else. best way is to ask for the actual traffic stats from the site you're looking at

no its not RIGHT ON THE MONEY!, but its a good way to measure traffic... not everything is exact, so stop whining about it
