a total geek question

in order to install the trail of vegas 6 I have to update my direct x on my offline box. I downloaded the version for offline computers but it has no default path. Does anyone know the path I would install it too ?

it does I tried c:/ and it installed but wasnt found so its not the folder for it

but as I said it shouldn't make a difference, could be corrupt instalation file or fuck knows what ;)
