Tell me the good and bad things about Webair

Heard many good things, not many bad things. Need someone with quick, accessible support, not a bunch of slackers who don't give a shit. Convince me on these guys.

European Lee 05-22-2005 10:32 AM

Just see the text link in my sig.

Thats all you need to know about them.

Lee

Brujah 05-22-2005 10:34 AM

Even Webair themselves wishes they could be National Net so much, that they bought the domain name ! That should tell you something :)

Pete-KT 05-22-2005 10:34 AM

I have been with them for 8 month now and never had a problem I had 4 hosts before that who were nothing but trouble. They have excelent 24 hour customer service, and never had a problem i needed some scripts installed this morning anf they took care of it for me right away

WEBAIR is a top notch company ran by a great guy Webair Mike.
As long as I am in the business of websites I will always be hosting with webair.

My sites are up and they stay up
I can't remember the last time I needed tech support
Add on top of that great pricing

When you're looking for hosting you've got a lot of options
Webair is a great option

Zuzana Designs 05-22-2005 11:08 AM

I switched over to webair a few months ago and they have been Awsome .. no complaints here. there tech support is great and have been there everytime I need them ... best host I have ever been with by far :thumbsup :thumbsup
Even at 5 in the morning someone was there to help me out ...

Funky Bastard 05-22-2005 11:11 AM

I think they suck everything about them! I dont know but I just like things alot different then what webair offers. I like cpanel and I like ICQ support and webair has some gay ass cp that only works half the time and they send you support tickets in your email. I guess you could call them on the phone but just said fuck it and went with another hosting company. I heard their uptime is good! :thumbsup

suesheboy 05-22-2005 11:11 AM

Webair is one of my backup hosts.

Been down an hour in over as year.

Tech support is only OK. People have had SQL problems.

Overall good value and dependable and to me worth a shot.

http://www.webair.com/cgi-bin/in?307

latinasojourn 05-22-2005 11:23 AM

no host is perfect.

but if you look at connectivity to key markets (north america and europe) they are just about the (best for the price.)

in 2 words. FAST and RELIABLE.

and when you have paysites this is really all that matters.

my dedicated boxes are at webair.

That is good although, it should never have needed to be resolved in the first place.

They are pretty good, but can't compare to Jupiter or Isprime.

webair connectivity (speed, # of hops, etc) is almost identical to ISPrime due to geographic location.

but (last time i looked) webair had much better BW pricing (probably because they are on Long Island and not NYC).

maybe things are different now.

if someone knows better connectivity/reliability FOR THE PRICE post it here.

people use phones to communicate. you cant rely on icq for everything. first you say they suck. now you comment on their uptime. have you even hosted with them? how can you say negative things about something you have never tried.

i am sure you are comofortable with your $39 hosting plan at thexxxhost

Pornopat 05-22-2005 12:18 PM

I have been with webair for a long time. If I need something installed on my server webair does it right away. I have not needed them for a downtime. The servers simply stay up. I can highly recommend them.

Juicy D. Links 05-22-2005 01:15 PM

Highly Recommend em. I bother there techs on the phone at 4 am evry few days

CybermedAndy 05-22-2005 01:17 PM

We dropped out garbage host a few months ago and moved to webair, haven't had a problem since.

:thumbsup

Violetta 05-22-2005 02:10 PM

I have nothing but :thumbsup to say about webair. They've helped me a lot.

erehwon 05-22-2005 08:40 PM

AAA service with Webair, only negative thing I can think of is their phone support, they pick it up within the first three rings. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I say that's a negative jokingly, if you are so used to mediocrity from other providers letting the phone ring forever before picking up, and not getting someone to answer your problem, you will find getting someone at Webair Tech support within the first couple of rings a breath of fresh air, and will catch you offguard the first couple of times.

I have friends that own other ISP's and I can't raise them as fast I can get a live person at Webair! :thumbsup :thumbsup

webair 05-23-2005 08:25 AM

First off thanks for the great feedback guys! We work very hard to bring you best possible service we can it seems like we are doing something right :)

dodger21 - Contact me I will make sure you are set up with a great deal and amazing services to follow.

latinasojourn - We are in NYC along with Brooklyn, Long Island and Cali. Our pricing is based on a our particular business model, we pass along savings to our client as the market pricing changes. As you can se over the years bandwidth pricing has come down drastically. You have to change with the time in order to keep your existing clients happy and new clients coming in. =)

----------Now for the unnecessary drammmmma-------------

Lee - I really have no response for you other than I'm happy the situation happened. I not only have gained a good friend in Tony, but a lot more has happened that you are unaware about that has effected my life in more ways than you could ever comprehend. The only part of that whole situation that I regret is the way I handled yours and Gary's account It was 100% unprofessional. But then again the only part of that situation that I really care about is Gary. I have no remorse or regard for you in any way shape or form. I think your unprofessionally and unwanted drama on this and all the other boards you post on speaks for itself. I feel bad for Gary as you are dragging his name down with your actions. I hope he sees that puts a stop to it.

With that said I'm sure everyone will be more informed in the near future what transpired between me and Tony from Natnet. He is a great guy and I have nothing but the utmost respect for himself and his company. Not to mention many thanks for what he has done for me personally. Everyone makes mistakes in life, I personally believe the ones who learn from them and grow from them are extremely fortunate. Lee I have one word for you that you should make your mantra...KARMA :)

very well said Mike :thumbsup

if there's one thing Webair deserves from the biz, id say RESPECT
i don't have problems promoting them. Mike has always been on top
of things as far as managing his own company and i can assure you
if you host with them, you don't have to worry a single thing.

Come on, you can't compare webair with isprime. Isprime and natnet are a league better then webair.

Also webair seems shady to me. Also why did they buy nationalnet.com ?

That's true, you can't compare Webair to ISPrime.. I hosted with ISPrime for 2 years and had nothing but trouble. It was an absolute nightmare.

On the other hand I now use Webair for my hosting and have never been happier, by FAR the best support. Great prices, great staff.. I'll be here for a long time to come.

But then again, GFY is full of webair sigwhores, paid to post here(or servers under the cost price). Likewhoa I mean the same thing likewhoa did. Curious how long they will stray alive.

justsexxx 05-23-2005 10:06 AM

Also many big programs are hosted on isprime or natnet. How many real big programs host on webair?

isprime--->bangbros, ox, ftvgirls, parts of TCG, parts of Platinumbucks, joinrightnow

Jensen 05-23-2005 10:07 AM

went with webair around 98-99 and have been with them ever since.. good service and nice prices..

Digipimp 05-23-2005 10:09 AM

i've had nothing but good experiences with webair and mike is a top notch guy at getting things done. the support is fast and live too fo sho!

I put them in my sig because I am very happen with them and I think they deserve a littlebit more respect. There is no affiliatecode and they do not sell me anything under costprice. They do not pay me to post here as well. I am just a very happy customer.
Try them Andre. You might actually be pleasantly surprised.

My comments have absolutely nothing to do with my sig.. I have a dedicated server with them & have never been happier.

I host with webair and get listed there 5 times a day. So it can not be the host.
Why not shoot an email to David at Richard's Realm and find out why RR does not list you?

i plug them also with no referral fee.

i want my host to have a good business, and attract new clients so my host can be financially strong and stay on top of the game.

the hosting business is a commodity, there is very little brand loyalty, and many hosts run on very tight margins.

i want webair to expand because it benefits my business.

and i tell the truth.

I believe this was the last e-mail I received from you:

"Sounds good so can I get a link to sign-up or how do we go about in getting set-up and sending payment."

We credited your $10 back immediately as per our discussion. It take a couple of weeks to show up on your statement.

There was nothing "erroneous" about the charge at all other than a misunderstanding of we thought you wanted =) we do offer any hosting accounts for $5.00 per year :)

BlueWire 05-23-2005 11:35 AM

I think webair is great. Mike @ webair is seriously maybe the nicest guy you'll ever meet. They know their shit...24/7 support...and thats LEGIT 24/7 support...at 4am you can get on their live chat support and have someone with you within a couple mnutes.

We have moved on with the majority of our sites because we needed some offshore hosting and some HEAVY SEO stuff that they dont specialize in. But for domestic based regular server...I dont think it gets much better to be honest :thumbsup
