I hate how they mis-characterize people as 'machiavellan' today. The prince (and other missives machiavelli produced) basically claimed that a proper prince would set aside his own personal morals to do what was required for the best of the state.

Yet the media (people of which should by all measures know better) continue to label money grubbing assbandits as 'machiavellan' simply because they're willing to whore themselves or exploit mercilessly. Personal gain has nothing to do with it, damnit! :2 cents:

i used to read it everyday in the sauna. great read, my copy is well worn.

for awhile I used a mini-book of it as a makeshift wallet.

I didn't used to use cash much... just cards.

Would read and re-read it everywhere.
