your at least 2 hrs - cedar point would be good but Put-In-Bay will have thousands of people on the islands...one of the best spots I've been to in the NE. Went there last Memorial Day for the entire week.

can someone explain this to me please?

if I understand this correctly, Memorial Day in the US, is a day to remember soldiers who have fallen in war. then why do Americans seem to use this day to hang out and have fun, like it's a happy holiday?

in Israel for example, the memorial day is surely the saddest day of the year (followed by Independance Day, which in my opinion is the happiest one).

I'm asking seriously, not trying to annoy or something...

Alexg..we also have Vetrans day. Memorial day does have rememberence ceremonies connected to it but then people go spend time with friends and family.
