If that was all, sure ... she deliberately planned it weeks in advance and knowingly had family, friends, citizens, police, etc. etc. all looking for her. When caught, she lied to save her ass and according to the DA she never seemed apologetic about it.

12 months in detention should make her feel differently and hopefully send a msg to other self-absorbed women like her that these kind of situations are serious ... so too are consequences.

I personally think a big fine would be best. Americans like to give our 1 year jail sentences like candy when its just not needed. If she can pay the bill of what she cost the country then that should be a big enough fine in itself.

She deserves it. If anyone can do that and get away with it, many people would. If it was a guy, there would be no mercy at all.

If she pays every cent the search costed let her off with a month in jail.

Why put her in jail? So the taxpayers can spend even more money on her? Give her a lengthy house arrest so she can still work and make her pay off the debt plus a hefty fine. Then a long probation with some nasty community service work.
