AVN do they deserve to run the biggest adult entertainment show?
Do you think someone else could do a better job? We only hear from AVN when they want money, didn't even see them at the damn show....

I think they do a darn good job. That's just my opinion.

At the show we ran a booth and didn't see them once :)

If someone focused properly, they could easily take them over.

I remember, right after the show you brought this up... which then led to me storming into the sales department with guns a-blazing. (Which I actually LIKE to do from time to time, so it's all good.) As it turned out, they DID drop by your booth, and DID discuss issues... just not with you, Darren. You should be careful what you wish for though... Just wait till next time, you know you're on my radar now! :winkwink: |

We will of course be at the Florida shows, which part of the new format are you most excited about Aly? I prefered the Florida show last year because you could network at every single point of the day, in the lift, everywhere which was a big difference to Vegas :) |
shit wrong computer

Darren I was in the booth as well-
You are forgetting- although not much- However I can ascertain that AVN came nowhere near us I think that was due to the fact that they fucked us with our location... You have to admit Darren that where the booth was was deplorable for a company that spends the kind of dough you guys spend... If I were you, I'd ask the AVN reps to give you a better location or you'll pull all of your ads... It's the least they can do. Let's see how much they care about you |
What does deserving have to do with it? They run the biggest show because they make it the biggest show...

Thanks for the feedback! :thumbsup In Vegas Jeff Random came by your booth and spoke with Scott. I've always preferred the Florida show for that exact same reason. It's more condensed and opportunities to do business are everywhere. I have a feeling the pool's going to be the place to be this year; companies are booking their own cabanas by the pool, so it'll be rather like an outdoor show floor... with a bar and swimming pool slap-dab right in the middle... A business event doesn't get much better than that! LOL.. |
AVN is great by me and they do as fine a job as could possibly be done. No one is perfect but it is even harder when you have to cater to so many different people and businesses. I don't think at this point that anyone could come close to doing the job that AVN does.
AVN does more for this industry than most people realize. Darren and Kevin, you guys know I love you but your issues with AVN are personal and for that reason should be kept private. I have had nothing but good to say about AVN and Internext because they have more than gone out of their way for us on many occaisions. |
they put on a good show in my mind

:-)) Darren has not said a word, I am the one talking and it's my opinion that Phoenix Forum, and the Webmaster Access along with Cybernet Expo give the webmasters more value. That's my opinion, i am entitled to it just like you are- But this has nothing to do with the fact that AVN owes my sister in law MONEY and broke a written contract It has more to do with me looking at my bank account after one of their shows-I see more of a ROI going to all th eother shows- and I have said this for years...nothing new from 1999 http://www.msnbc.com/news/466460.asp?cp1=1 |
I know that at ANY show, I can always count on having Jeff and Monty drop by atleast..... :thumbsup
I do have my own personal disagreements with the "rumors" I have heard for this year's show though (related to new pricing - especially for regular attendees). I think if AVN wants to stay the 'top' show, they should take some successful elements and ideas from other shows, like Phoenix. If they continue on their current path, I don't think it will be long before someone else will come up and challenge them :2 cents: On that note.....November...Costa Rica....that's all I will say for now :batman |

AVN runs a good show. i've been in the event production biz for a while. its a lot of work and they handle it well. |
?I haven?t seen one deal happen at the trade show,? he added, referring to agreements with small-time operators to send Internet traffic to the big players in return for a share of any revenue that is generated. ?The ones I?ve seen have happened in cabs, on buses and at the parties.?
But for those with ?content? ? video, photos or audio ? to sell, the conference hall floor appeared to be the place to be. Brad Shaw, or anyone else can do the same show all you need is a place to assemble and a few bucks to secure the location- Anyone want to give me $30,000 to do a show? |

I haven't started any public drama threads involving AVN. The only thread I ever made was right after they fired my wife, I let people know that the Players Ball is not a part of Internext. And that was long ago. Just curious if you're thinking Darren @ Mensniche is me? |

KB posted under your nickname by accident and then corrected it. FarL may have seen that. It's all good. |
the $30,000 is what would be used to secure the venue
my fees are not included in that price. It's no secret that TCI- AVN's tradeshow division is their most profitable venture they have Aly. So let's talk about how much money they make off of webmasters who don't know any better and just need a place to be seen for "BRANDING" LOL |
I am amazed people still line AVN's pockets they way they do.
IMHO, the smaller shows are the future. |
ALY is right, I am not giving KB $30k. KB, if you think you can compete with AVN do it. There is big $ in the BIG shows.
We attempting to compete with AVN. We just decided to do our own small show to provide networking opportunities at a smaller laid back, no idiot show. Will see how it goes. |
