2257 and content hosting
Ok-I realize that everyone is overdosing on 2257 questions and we are all trying to figure this out together, but...
Does anyone know, if you are leasing content from a provider which they are hosting on their servers, are you responsible as a "secondary producer" ie affiliatte program, for keeping the records for those models? |
As I interpret it, if it is framed / included / scripted so that it appears to a part of your site (your site is in the address bar when viewing said content), yes, you would be secondary producer. If you simply provided a link, no, you wouldn't.

Hey Toonces-
As one of the leading content providers, we've consulted our Attorney and can communicate that any content hosted on our domain meets all 2257 requirements as set forth by the Department of Justice. Therefore, you would be in compliance as we are the "record keepers". Our position is that we will continue to monitor the progress of events surrounding 2257 and will aggressively act to ensure that our clients are protected and well-armed to continue ?business as usual?. Hope that answers your question. lee |
