What should I get for them ??

See I feel Cash is King and works as a gift.

However I'm not in the USA I'm in Budapest Hu and don't want to insult or do something wrong - You know what I mean ?


So really please post on the a Congrats on the "Just got the news it's a girl"

and post what is a good gift here.

come on has no one bought gifts for a New Baby before - Just post some ideas

I'm going by what we went through our last bundle of joy...

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with sending money, as long as it is made more personal with a nice card and maybe some other items. (Babies are expensive, regardless of how much money one has / makes).

Blankets are always good - nice warm soft ones, because babies will throw up and crap them up in a hurry.

Disposable diapers - they cost almost as much per pound as gold - always appreciated.

Baby outfits - nothing fancy, just your every day comfortable cotton clothes. Babies need to be changed all the time.

Do not buy any toys - people with new babies get more toys than a child could possibly ever play with and most end up just not being utilized.

If they don't have one, maybe one of the video baby monitor setups..

Maybe a nice picture frame for her first picture

When my son was born someone gave me a very nice life journal. It's for recordings my thoughts throughout his life as he grows up and then when he's a man I give it to him as a gift of guidance from his father (sniff, sniff). :)

A personilized photo album so they can put baby pics. I think money is the best thing because it will help them pay for the expenses.

Well I just got back to my place. From going out with Harlon to pick up the lights and things from the shoot yesterday.

YOU GUYS ROCK - When Harlon came in I could see in his eyes how happy and proud he is to be a new father - of course he had pictures and even short video clip on his cell phone - AMAZING

So I should him this post and his expression of even more JOY was just Awesome. I decided to go with money for a gift which was just fine by him. We went out to lunch at a cafe in Lizst Ferenc square - couple of beers and now he is on his way home to the new family.

What a great day :thumbsup
