Anyone have bad eyes from staring at the computer hours at a time??
I sit in front of the computer for 10-12 hours at a time sometimes and my eyes get fucking burned and red... I just recently started wearing sunglasses do reduce the glare but fuck! I look like shit after a few days of solid work.

my contacts bother me after 8 or so hours

No, I have a great view behind my monitor. It is recommended you regularly do eye exercises. ie. After looking at your monitor(or anything up close) you should look far away and focus your eyes on something really small in the distance. ie. pot plant on a building 100meters away

60 minutes of working on the computer
5 minutes of getting up and doing other shit (walking around and thinking, getting a snack, looking outside, picking up the mail, making a call while looking at a distance etc.) 60 minutes of working on the computer 5 minutes of getting up and doing other shit (walking around and thinking, getting a snack, looking outside, picking up the mail, making a call while looking at a distance etc.) 60 minutes of working on the computer 5 minutes of getting up and doing other shit (walking around and thinking, getting a snack, looking outside, picking up the mail, making a call while looking at a distance etc.) repeat this and you wont have eye problems. :thumbsup |

nice! :thumbsup i was just thinking of getting into yoga :winkwink: |
I recommend using an 85 Hz or higher resolution if you can on your monitor/video card. Which I'm sure most of you can. It is definitely easier on your eyes.

I think it depends on quality of monitor, and what you have your refresh rate set at. I know for me personally, if I crank up the refresh rate, my eyes will go nuts. So I generally keep it at 65-70.
:Oh crap |
1. get a good CRT monitor and run it at 85mhz. LCD's are even nicer again on your eyes if you can afford one. You might be running your current monitor at 60mhz which would cause A LOT of eye strain, you can put this upto 75-85 for good results this along will reduce strain a lot.
2. get outside a few times a day and take breaks. Your body locking up is not going to help your work in the future. 3. eyedrops to help lub your eyes, you only blink 3-5 times a minute when using computer, 7-10 times a minute when your reading and like 25-30 normally. |
