Does the Computer have a static IP?
If so just google for 'windows DNS server' or if you're on *nix get BIND |
I could be wrong, but you would need Windows Server 2000/2003 or Windows Small Business Server 2003. This machine would have to be the domain controller of your network.
I do not believe Windows 2000 Pro/XP are capable of being stand-alone DNS servers. |
You could always use C:\Win*\system32\drivers\etc\hosts to add custom entries to your computers NS.

I use simple DNS http://www.simpledns.com
I run it off one of my servers which is co-located at a data center, not off my home PC. but it works great and is easy to use. |
