Im looking for new hobbies so this is something always seemed fun. Got a nice high end detector, gonna be here tuesday and Im off to the woods to see if anyone left their 18k rolex there :) Ill post some pics of my first things I found... Hope its not just crap :winkwink:

I have one too, I like to use it. I've uncovered a whole bunch of junk though, nothing of value except the old coins.

I know but thats like 3 hrs drive from here besides Ive lived there all my life, there are 1000s of ppl doing that there and its crap what you find, so polluted, the woods here arent plus plenty of old Roman roads with nice stuff to look for...

The woods.. think you can find anything there? High traffic area woods maybe? Mafia woods??? Be cool to see what you find... Good luck and have fun!!!

What kinda coins? There are lotsa silver guilders and smaller coins here, this is bout the oldest part of Holland so lotsa ppl lived here and stuff to be found :thumbsup

Like I said the oldest Roman roads are in these woods, you can even see the remainings and its legal to go there plus not many ppl look for stuff there... If you see the stuff they found in the museums here its amazing not just coins but old vases, knives etc etc and I dont mean 50 yrs old but 1000s

Go to your local schoolyards. My friends dad does it and he has tons of high school rings etc.

Lots of old gold reefs here in Australia, you regularly see some old geezer whos found a 200k nugget on the news! I might get one and head out the old gold fields!
