Verizon or Cingular...Which Cell Phone company to choose?

I am totally against Cell phones for several reasons BUT I have to get one for business and tactical purposes.

So which company to go with? Plans?

I'm in Los Angeles so I guess Pac Bell would rule the day?

BukkakeBrown 06-04-2005 07:10 PM

Yo! I'm glad I asked cause no sooner said than done, a news report about Verizon came over the wire. Seems customers are pissed at the way Verizon billed them?

Now the quest is on for what phone! Gotta have video capability for sure.

Dailydiapers 06-04-2005 08:13 PM

I hate cell phones too, but need to have one for my day job. I use Cingular and am quite pleased with them. I have NEVER been without a signal, and I travel a lot... and the rollover mintes are sweet if you don't use the phone much, then need to use it a lot for a while.

I like the cingular logo... so I would say cingular.
Actually a few people have told me that cingular rocks.

HarrytheNazi 06-04-2005 08:18 PM

Im one of them. I signed up with Verizon on the cheap $40/month plan. Just got my first bill and it was $140.
They billed me 2 months in advance, added signup fees that I didnt know about.
They charge $1.25 if you call 411.
I was pissed and called them to cancel and they said Id have to pay $150 if I wanted to cancel.
:disgust

BigMaster 06-04-2005 09:07 PM

Verizon has a clear signal but they do not offer unlimed TXT messaging the most u can get a month is 1000. where i live anyway(OHIO)

abadfish 06-04-2005 09:30 PM

I'd vote for Cingular... Best cell co. I have ever been with... currently on Sprint and I can't wait for my contract to expire so I can switch back.

Adam-EB 06-04-2005 11:08 PM

Anything but Nextel. I hate ours, but everyone we know has one, so it's hard to switch.

pstation 06-04-2005 11:11 PM

what's better, an apple or an orange?

BiggleJones 06-04-2005 11:16 PM

man....Cingulars signal in So-Cal blows hairy old men. The two that work best out here are Sprint and Verizon.

4Pics 06-04-2005 11:26 PM

I had sprint and moved to cingular. Both are good but sprint has better data plans.

Ja! That's the type of horror story I'm reading about from the various attornies general websites and forums all over the country!

And they think porn sites are a rip???

I'll go with cingular. I'll get the phones via corporate account cause I ain't havin' my credit fucked up more than it is by having some bizarre minutes thingie goin' on.

if I was you I would contact my Attorney General and bitch like a son of a bitch. It's the only way to get these companies to knock off the rip off shit.

People in the U.S. just don't get it. 'IF' the service you sign up for, even if it's a hotel or a cell phone plan or even a restaurant, if during that period of service 'YOU' the 'CUSTOMER' are at a disadvantage or are treated without respect then by default the provider of the service is invalidated and can by law be suspended indefinitely until such service is considered by the court to be valid.

It's the most fundamental of all service and trade yet it's like we support and applaud a company for treating the customer like a jerk.

if wireless internet/email is important, then go with a blackberry...you cant go wrong with that.

MicroChick 06-05-2005 12:48 AM

Biggie, I agree. In Southern California, Verizon is
King. I would rather use another carrier, but I'm
happy with my Verizon signal.

MBS Auto 06-05-2005 12:56 AM

Ycaza 06-05-2005 11:11 AM

Greg B 06-05-2005 11:32 AM

So I'm travelling around the country, which provider to choose? For some reason I feel that Cingular will be the provider of choice.

taibo 06-05-2005 11:45 AM
