non us 2257 question

Can someone please tell me if they know the answers..

If you are not in the US do you still need to comply and if you don't is the site you are sending traffic to in any violation of 2257 if they are in the US and 2257 compliant?

If you promote Lightspeed read the thread posted by Steve, one other sponsor is doing the same as him right now.

Well, US law doesn't apply to non-US citizens, so in theory, you don't need to comply with 2257. On the other hand, I think that most sponsors will have some kind of 2257 rule in their terms, so your account could be terminated if you won't comply.

If the site advertised is 2257 compliant, then you have nothing legally to worry about.

The site you are sending traffic to isnt in any violation because of something you do. If they are compliant, then they are compliant, what you do on your server in your country doesnt effect them being compliant

If you are non-US citizen, don't live on US soil and use non-US webhost you don't need to comply.

I can't give any clear advise on the domain itself or the billing processors policy, but they usually require you to follow US laws if you buy a domain through a US registrant or you promote a site, which 3rd party billing processor require you to follow their laws.

You should also look at the sponsors TOS what they say.

If you are non-US citizen and wants to comply, you still don't need to comply 100%, because you will not have to keep the records personally for inspections. There are some info you need to place on your galleries/sites, but it is quite easy to make and maintain with php include.

If you want to see how I worked this out, hit me up on ICQ 217-240-358
