This has been speculated for years. It actually had a little steam when people started saying that Carlos Lehder ( Diego in "Blow") was sent there after the US renigged on their deal and Carlos started writting letters to Pres. etc. saying he had a lot of information about a lot of people. The whole Iran/Contra drug shit. Anyway, he was serving his time in Tampa I think and one night he disappeared. The speculation has always been that sometimes the gov. needs to keep people alive in case they ever need to cover their ass or blackmail someone. There actually a ton of information on that topic and a lot verified by congressional commitee reports. Who knows. Funny though how since 9/11 anything that govt gets caught lying about is always blamed on bad intelligence. There was an article today (ironically) claiming the US wants to shut it down. But what is really funny is the ass raping Newsweek got in the last few weeks about the originally Koran story they printed and how there was no truth to the story. Now that the truth comes out this week, I have not seen a single mention of it or apology to Newsweek. Last week Korea had 2-3 Nukes know as of today they have 8. Hmm, with all this bad intelligence or maybe lack of, who knows.
