when i was just a young girl, and i watched cop shows on our little black and white television, i thought that all the men who were shot down were prisoners from death row, and they had been given a choice; death by electric chair, or hollywood? and the guys on television that were being shot down and dying in the streets had been given the choice, and had chosen hollywood. but i knew they didn't have a choice of the show; it might be a movie, it might be columbo, or the night stalker; it could be any of them.
