2257 is a ruse and con and has been one since its very onset. It would not of stopped lords from appearing in the films (she had ID), and it still does nothing to address that.
This law has never had anything to do with child pornography and still does not. The only thing it did when first introduced was give guidelines and a green light for producers to legally make and show hardcore material.

Excellent point, but the government would rather blame the pornographers, even if its a minor perpetrating the fraud.

Good point and people dont realize Tracy Lords had a license and a passport that were fake. Child pornographers are unground they dont have 2257 or records period or have legimate businesses that pay taxes. 2257 gives them a reason to come into your office without a warrant.
