Hey Lensman, where is Reality Cash's 2257 solution???

I see you jumping on hahaha and telling them they can't black out the ID's, and jumping on Nasty Dollars and telling them they can't encrypt the ID's.

Where is your solution for 2257? You said you would have 3 of them, and the regs go into effect in 12 hours.

How much time were you planning on giving webmasters to download the ID's and cross reference everything?

I did several searches just in case I missed your announcement, and all I found was you saying on 5/31 that you would have 3 solutions and gallery builders were making a big mistake by not promoting you.
Now there are 12 hours left, what's the deal?

xxxice 06-22-2005 09:14 AM

They sent an email last night explaining I think

Manowar 06-22-2005 09:14 AM

All I've read was

Quote:

1. Using FHGs?

Adult.com's FHG's are 100% 2257 compliant RIGHT NOW!

2. Building galleries?

Adult.com will make sure you can be 2257 compliant before the new regulations are enforced. We will have three solutions to choose from. More on this soon.

3. What's the lesson here?

If you are a TGP or gallery builder and not promoting RealityCash, you're making a big mistake.
I think that might be it, unless I missed it

TheDoc 06-22-2005 09:36 AM

I brought this up before..

Well some companies are giving out ID's....although in an encrypted format or something else, and others have said here's some softcore content to replace what you've been using.

wjxxx 06-22-2005 09:50 AM

All you need is just link to their 2257 page. Problem solved :2 cents:

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-22-2005 09:52 AM

Did I ever mention Lens hates this kind of shit?

Did you get a law degree from a cracker jack box?
That's a good way to end up in jail in a hurry.

:1orglaugh Its funny , but he does actually "kind" of have a point.

If you are using HARDCORE content that requires 2257 docs and instead of keeping the content on your servers you use a php include to grab the content from the sponsors servers ( i realise that hotlinking doesnt exempt you from 2257 ), shouldnt the same be applicable for the 2257 docs ? Like shouldnt you be able to use the same php include to display the 2257 ( i.e. not from your servers )

If you want to risk 5 years of your freedom trying to be "cute" with the law, then be my guest.
I for one am not that brave.

If you have editorial control over a page, then it is your responsibility to maintain documentation for all sexually explicit content that appears on the pages you have editorial control over.
It doesn't matter where the content itself is hosted.

I believe the wording is "insert into Webpages". An iframe or php would still be "inserting" I would assume.

Alex 06-22-2005 11:34 AM

Smokey does have a good point.
But i rather not fuck with the law, because when the DOJ comes to the RC office and asks them if sitedomain.com that was linkin to your 2257 is your site, and the adult.com crew says no/ Then you are fucked.

As for the encryption. What is wrong with that?

wdsguy 06-22-2005 11:44 AM

bump for answers, I didn't get any email from RC

pradaboy 06-22-2005 12:21 PM

Interesting point to say the least... I still think ND's solution is top notch and very creative!

I was thinking this last night.

Reality Cash was one of the first programs to say "hey guys, don't worry, we have something for you". Now we're within hours of "Judgment Day" and I have yet to see any solution provided by Reality Cash.

I'm sorry, but that is bull shit. If you don't have a solution, don't say you will.

I am extremely disappointed with several "top companies" who have refused to make ANY comment whatsoever regarding 2257. At least have the courtesy to tell your affiliates to pucker up before pounding them in the ass.

COMMUNICATION IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED! I realize models privacy is a huge concern, I understand that. All I'm asking for is communication.

wdsguy 06-22-2005 12:46 PM

still waiting for official word.

SykkBoy 06-22-2005 01:00 PM

maybe I'll quit porn and go to work for the DOJ......

We made an announcement a long time ago saying we will provide proven affiliates with all of the required records.

We have been working with individual affiliates to meet their needs, but I will make another summary post to let everyone know what we are doing for them.

FilthyRob 06-22-2005 03:36 PM

I am ready

We must be reading different regulations. The ones I saw require you to identify on your site(s) the location of your place of business, which must also be the place where your records are stored and correctly cross-referenced. Unless I am way off with that summary, I don't see how linking to someone else's 2257 statement has any relevance.

Come to that, since your records must include copies of all your pages, originals and subsequent (changed) versions, framing content itself is dangerous, since you will not know when pages have changed. If DOJ investigators show up with a screenshot that you cannot match, you are already guilty of a felony.

As to the broader picture, this certainly isn't our industry's finest hour. Most sponsors appear to have sat on their thumbs for the past 9 months and now are using claims about fears for model safety as an excuse for doing nothing. It would be easier to believe these fears were sincere, but for the fact that there are far more sponsors than photographers, so we have the ludicrous situation of some sponsors now witholding records that photographers themselves have been handing out for years: in most cases without making any attempt to obscure addresses, etc.
