Today, I applaud many of you.

After sending out my 2257 statement e-mail to my affiliates yesterday, I wake up today to find an overwhelming amount of mails in my inbox from US based webmasters who are against giving out the models IDs. Many say the same thing, that they are not going to request such info even though it is required.

:thumbsup

It's nice to see that some Americans still have a set of balls. Today, you have my respect and I applaud your actions.

wdsguy 06-22-2005 12:57 PM

Idiots... if they are pushing something non-compliant, they are asking for trouble. Dumbest fucking statements I've heard since THIS thread :winkwink:

If anybody here hasn't read the recent AVN article about the issues that will be brought up in court tomorrow, I urge you to, I'll try and find the link shortly. The article really opened my eyes as to the Amendments that will be broken by this law.

Privacy laws. Search and seizure laws. The assumption of guilt, over innocence. The list goes on.

Has nothing to do with balls and most likely everything to do with being too lazy to comply. I guess if you aren't going to comply you look better if you say you're doing out of protest and are saying "fuck you" to Bush rather than to admit "Hey I'm really a lazy motherfucker"

it's a damn shame the people in our government have such skewed perceptions of the bill of rights.

That is the difference between leaders and followers. The difference between people who take risks and those who do nothing. The difference between people who question authority and those who would suck a cock if the law said they had to. But most importantly it's the difference between those who give a shit about the safety of others and those who do not.

It is their choice if they choose to boycott the new regulations... I think it's a noble thing to do if they want to take the chance. They feel strongly about the models safety, more so than most sponsors obviously do. Self included.

True, and I understand your point. However, for the time being, anyone willing to risk their entire livelihood (or a partial livelihood) just to buck the system is going about it the entirely wrong way. They will not win, when faced with the bullshit ready to go down (provided there is something ready to go down).

Reverse engineering... it's a wonderful thing. Think outside of the box and EVERYONE here would be just fine :2 cents:

Maybe. But don't you think they could of just as easily not even responded and kept to themselves.

Privacy laws. Search and seizure laws.

That is exactly why it has to be stopped.

It is one thing to stand up for something that you believe in. It is another to give up 5 or more years of your life for making money.

Well I don't think it's just to buck the system so much as it is they disagree with passing out the models IDs. I can understand that. Plus, we don't know how much money these guys are sitting on and they very well may be looking for a legal fight. Who knows. The people who are fighting this (FSC and others in the long run if it is not defeated, will be known in this industry for a long, long time) You can't buy that kind of press.

Either way, I thought is was nice to wake up to see people boycotting 2257. That was my point.
