How's that for a page jack?

interesting part:

Quote:

So registration will be open to the public?
It is not open to the public. This is limited to bona fide members of the adult community. Cybersquatters will not come through the door.

Who's bona fide?
We will have identification mechanisms in place and we hope people like AVN, GFY, and places like that will help us authenticate people.

It would have been easy for us to come to AVN and say give us your subscriber list and when people come, you say he's one of ours and we give you $5 for it. But that's exactly the kind of deal we tried to keep away from because we don't want people to think we're buying our supporters.

There is no deal.

We are going to be coming out and saying if you become one of our authentication providers and you authenticate people, we will pay you some money to do it because you're not going to do it for bloody free, are you? We haven't launched that.

It puts whoever is responsible for authentication in a very advantageous position.
We're not going to just have one.

Some people may want to be authenticated [in this way], and some people won't. If people don't authenticate that way, they're going to have to probably pay us a small fee. They'll go through a manual authentication where we simply call them and they'll say I'm in the business, these are some of my sites or no, I'm not in the business, but I want to start. In that case, we make a note of that, let them start the site and if [it's not adult] we take it down. It's for the community. Cybersquatters and speculators are not allowed.

Good interview, ICM are really open about the whole process, maybe it'll put a few people at ease

A damn good page jack it was.

This whole thing stinks. It is a very poor read.

what I mean by that is. This individual "says" what he thinks are all the right things. But when any specifics are mentioned it is suddenly in everyones best interest to decline comments and information.

He seemed really comfortable dropping names when it comes to deny any speculation, but gets quiet when asked who is nominated, how the process works, and where these people are coming from . "dozens" of nominations yet not a name dropped. This really surprises me, this community historically can't keep it's mouth shut, yet I'm led to believe there a dozens of nominated people and not one name was mentioned?

It doesn't sit right. None of it.

not to mention the only people named in the thread were people who have at one time stated or implied support for a .xxx TLD.

it's alright though, we all know the truth will come to light 5minutes before it's too late or 5minutes after.

AVNOnline.com: xBiz reported that ASACP will be a direct beneficiary of IFFOR. Hendeles has stated this is undecided. Which is it?
Stuart Lawley: This was a misquote.

Clearly the ASACP has goals and a membership complement that fulfills the charter of IFFOR. We have proposed to work closely with the ASACP to establish them as our [child porn] hotline for the .xxx registry. ASACP has been in negotiations with ICM for ASACP to serve as a hotline for reviewing reports of suspected child pornography and perhaps to carry out the secondary monitoring of .xxx sites for child pornography.

GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK....

If he is so NOBLE...why not start .kids.........you know why? no money in that, do you really think they care that much about out kids, its just fucking non sense, and whom ever is behind this in the shadows, shame on you....

You dont speak for me or any of my friends, you are not the majority of the adult biz, maybe you used to be....not now.

vicki 06-22-2005 03:25 PM

oh for heaven sakes
like anyone from the real mainstream world would WANT the stigmata attached by
buying autozone.xxx to go with their autozone.com domain or MomAndPopsGroceries.xxx to go with MomAndPopsGroceries.com

the only people interested would be pornsters anyway
with the exception of those planning to try and blackmail the mainstream community with them ... hmmm what am I saying :(

:Oh crap
Well lets just say we all go for the bait, buy one switch over ...lots of crap to get our names, cause I am sure some ass will try and hijack my domains, what ever, so lets just say there we are......now what? Joe Liberman and and they credit card companies, isp's and state by stare block outs start and that is just the start...here is the kicker.

The very ones that support this deal, made ALL THE TRAFFIC deals way way back, now guess what, the traffic that remains, guess who controls its? Bingo.

Old fuckers that once controled out industry that have made some very dark back room deals to keep there dirty fingers on our biz.....

This guy Stuart says "no one has a cut" Prove it...you are not telling us the truth. Why the payoffs and and deals for what? Cause .XXX is really neat, and we should just do it cause he says so?

People of the Adult World Wake up before its to late....also all the support letters that came in first positive, they now realize that its not what he says it was going to be, so yes there is now retractions going on, hopefuly they speed up process, there is a BIG GUN coming on board that I will for sure tell everyone about, that will make this shit stop..and quick like.

tony286 06-22-2005 04:24 PM

I highly doubt thousands of people in the industry supported this. Remember at internext to nice and ball less and polite when you walk by their booth.
