What kind of ratios do you get with Google's adwords? Is it as good as normal se stuff?

Depends on the wording of your ads. I recently ran 2 campaigns for the same site, both at the same max CPC and daily budget, the only change was the wording of the ad. One converted 1:17, the other 1:97

So I guess we should expect to see a 1 in couple hundred ratio as a norm right? Otherwise it wont be profitable...

1 in a couple hundred at most.

If its a very competitive market and you have to pay a high CPC, then try including the price in your ad.. or at least have it say "Buy X" somewhere in the ad.

i love adwords... one more thing to remember, most of the keywords/phrases on adwords have a 0.05 max CPC, so if you made yours 0.06 it will show up a lot more, and you'll have a lot more potential clicks.

to get better ratios you might target only US / Canada surfers and possibly also disable displaying your ads on content pages ( go to campaign -> settings etc... from what i remember )

i never made big money with it though, just a coupled hundred here and there

people like WG probably make constantly $1k+ daily from it :)

I did set it up to only target us consumers so... :) Ill tell ya one thing, I love fucking with new traffic sources...

adwords can be great at times. and other time you can blow threw several thousand dollars easily

There's definitely A LOT to be made from adwords, that is, if you have money to get started and play around testing things. I'm planning on getting a 'real' job soon just so I can have money I don't need to test things out.. I can still live off of my websites, but with the income from this real job, i'll have $100's extra a week to play around with. I plan on doing adwords with about 90% of this money.

just curious, when promoting ADULT sites, are you sending directly to sponsor tours, or landing pages?

I prefer straigh forward, sicne it saves time and you dont have to make the pages and it's easier to track IMO. But it might convert worse a little

actually tracking is a problem for me, let's say I promote nasty dollars with 3 different PPc Se's, then comparing all the stuff and checking where the sales come from can be a tough job ( or when you also send traffic f.e from galleries to nasty dollars and also from Adwords, and as u know sponsors often show "blank" for referring pages so you cant figure out where the sale came from and you cant tell exactly if the campaing is profitable )

and adwords also have all the BS rules and that's discouraging

or when they disable my keywords, becaue of too low CTR... or when i start a new campaign, submit keywords and some of them are already disabled from start,lol....

the whole thing may sound like spendign $30 daily and making easy $50, or spending $300, making $500 etc, but it's actually not that easy and you have to analyze a lot...

but after I wrote this.. well, maybe it's time to play with it more again, instead of wasting time on GFY

btw brizzad, werent you making money with adssense? that's the opposite of adwords

I don't promote adult sites via adwords.

I was making money with adsense, but sold almost all of those sites so I could start earning per sale instead of click. It's a little harder to do, but it's more profitable to the right person.

I'll start playing with adsense again whenever google decides it'd be a good idea to let me transfer my adsense earnings into my adwords account :thumbsup
