Nats, can you please list the pros and cons of selling products using Nats

We all know nats Kick ass for membership sites but can you please list the pros and cons of selling products using nats. Sorry to put you guys on the spot but I figured I would get the best answer to my question on here and that it would save you some time having to answer it again and again. Im sure there are many others that want this information. Last time I talked with John you guys were working on it so I just want to know what the status of the module is and how well its working out.

Im sure Nats can do a lot of cool little things other software cant do like cascading billing but can it do the small basic stuff that I and others using mainstream shopping cart software have come accustomed to such as the features listed on the link below? I dont expect you to offer everything my current cart uses but I just want to see where you guys stand at next to them.

Thanks for your time. :thumbsup

wtfent...

NATS does not have a shopping cart system built in, and it never will. What we worked on in v2.0 was the general features needed to support shopping cart sites. (We might of course releas a shopping cart system in the future, but it would be a standalone product.)

So, NATS itself does not provide the shopping cart, but it now supports integrating them a lot easier. Basically, you can either have your shopping cart system treat NATS as the payment processor or have your cart postback sale info to NATS as it occures.

NATS also now supports "product" options for sites, meaning options that are not membership based, this was not available before.

NATS supports sites totally without options when using billing gateways that do not need options to use. (Most do not.) This way you can charge any price you want for a specific surfer, which is of course needed for most shopping cart scenarios.

And finally, NATS allows you to keep track on all purchases a specific surfer made as long as you can tell NATS a distinguishable username or the like. This gives you full purchase history inside NATS.

Hope this answers your question.
