Aren't stories of fishing considered "tales" until pics prove otherwise?
*** edit -- k, I see one pic :) On a side note, this thread reminds me of catching rainbow trout on the Smith river in norther CA as a kid and tasting the savage yumminess after it's cooked in a cast iron skillet with just a little flour batter on it by grammy. Mmmm... fresh fish. |

although some people have improvised rope & giant treble hook contraptions....so that they can swing it under the fish & then pull it up....which of course has a 100% mortality rate to the fish, so they better make sure the flounder is 18" the skate i caught was on a surf casting rod with 100lb test spider wire, i got him to the surface up to the bridge, then put on gloves & manually pulled him up with the help of another fisherman usually the only way you can land a skate is on a boat..a net...or by literally dragging them onto the beach surfcasting, i lucked out |
