Do you own a projector?

Im in the market for a DLP projector, looking at Infocus X2 or an Acer model
Something around $1k.

The geek sites say these budget projectors arent good.. I need a honest oppinion. If you own a projector, what kind is it, and is it good for watching movies?

Thanx

havent got one know plenty who have, get a silent one for sure and nothing under 800 ansilumen, they sell these shitty refurbished ones here curtains closed and still you cant see shit, not even for xbox or so oh and keystone correction otherwise you gotta tilt your head 25 degrees for 2 hrs

I would but the fact that most >1000? projectors are pretty limited doesn't appeal me a bit, for that price I can almost get a 32'' LCD or a 42'' plasma

yes, i am interested in this also.

the digital projectors i have seen have not given image quality as good as medium format film projectors.

what is the current state-of-the-art system to project raw image files of 16mb (Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II) to maybe 6 feet across.

how good does it look? does it look better than medium format film projection?

i know this is probably the wrong forum to ask this question, but maybe someone here has hands on experience.

Why, the quality sucks unless it's pitch black.

I can get my room pitch black btw

I have a real good one, barely used that I'll sell because I dont have a place for it anymore.

Integra DLV-100 DLP & ceiling mount... I'll sell it for $1000. Has about 60 hours of use on it.

some info on it....

FPV-1 not included, I used a ViewSonic video processor and got great results.
