looking to buy a new pc, where should I buy?

I am looking at getting a nice gaming pc, like SLI graphics cards, dual core, etc... I like the alienware but think I can do better on price.

What do you recommend getting? or buying from?

pawsregd 08-26-2005 09:57 AM

Have one made to your specs. Most off the shelf pc's are not suited for gaming.

I am looking to spend about 2k-2.5k

Azlord 08-26-2005 10:18 AM

Bens Bargains

Vendzilla 08-26-2005 10:31 AM

I got my last PC at http://www.cyberpowerinc.com , they build some really cool PC's and Laptops

evildick 08-26-2005 10:34 AM

http://falcon-nw.com/

has nice systems. You pay out the ass though. If you can build one yourself you would be better off.

FreeAgent 08-26-2005 10:34 AM

I would suggest making your own. Its really easy to do and it will save you lots of green.

bjjb 08-26-2005 10:36 AM

Try Dell and their new gaming machines.

You might have a hard time getting an SLI system for that little, depending on what parts you want to buy. I think the Geforce 7800 GTX's run around $500 each, so you need two of those. So you are at $1000 just for video cards.

JD 08-26-2005 10:46 AM

why hasn't someone posted www.alienware.com yet?

Damn for 2500 bucks they could thhrow in a decent monitor and a dvd burner.

psili 08-26-2005 11:01 AM

Find a reputable site that offers custom, generic systems that you can configure to your heart's content. Don't buy from Dell, Sony, HP, whatever. Make sure they have a solid reputation (search on that) as well as configuration options you want.

Fuck alienware, falcon-nw, etc. because you'll pay way too much.

Otherwise, build it yourself.

wow, that is a pretty good deal. I noticed they have the GT cards instead of the GTX's, but I doubt they are worth the added $.
