Why is everyone bitching about gas?
I do not understand why you all feed into this scare that is nothing but complet bullshit. Here where I live the cheapest gas by my house is 3.05 for unleaded and its like 3.40 for the super stuff. Now 7 miles away the gas is only 2.67 and 2.95 for the super stuff, now lets all think about something here, its like this all over the place. Gas prices may be going up, but think about it. If gas really was as expensive as everyone wants to make it think there wouldnt be an almost 40 cent differnce only a couple miles away. Also id like to add to the fact that as gas keeps going up, more people are going to ride transits, carpool, god knows whatever to conserve money. At that point the people who sell gas will be saying to themselfs "fuck, we are now losing money" and that is why within the next 6 months gas may go as high as 3.50 for unleaded gas but honestly, also within 6 months gas will go back down to a coft... 2.30 unleaded. so stop bitching, and think about how bad it is in other places, and yah, you all got money, hell I am only a fucking tech and I can afford the gas so stop bitching stop bitching thank you cause im sick of it and one more thing :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY

so you think the less we buy, the cheaper gas will become? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Wanna know how many ppl got rid of their cars here? I know at least 3 and not because theyre like poor. Gas here is so damn high ppl are using veggie oil to mix it with these days. Lemme calc how much it is now a gallon.
|
bcoz they are poor and can't afford to fill up their cars.. sarcastc, first you want a war with Iraq then you're crying about gas prices
|
There are no cabs or buses where I live. if you want to go anywhere you have to drive. I have to drive 15 km or so just to get gas. Yeah, they are gouging, but there is nothing anyone can do about it, and people tend to bitch when they are getting ripped off.
|
lol you are dumb because yes the less we buy the cheaper gas will be, the only reason why it cost so much, is because right now they can profit off it, once it gets to a point where they cant, they will bring it back down. anyone with half a brain or half an education should know it

if we dont buy it china will. The price will never fall.

We've been paying like 4.50 a galon here forever. If someone here makes $40,000 a year, 4.50 a galon for gas is nothing, unless they're retarded and drive a giant fucking SUV with 26" spinners and 500 lbs of TV's, PS2's and subs in the back.
I'm eagerly awaiting laws that limit vehicle size and engine displacement. When that happens, we won't have to hear about people bitching about paying less for gas than we do here, because it costs them 120 bucks to fill both the tanks in their ugly, overpriced, shitty handling, completely-retarded-unless-you-actually-are-an-offroading-enthusiast SUV. |
$6.54 per gallon here
|
lol nice

People in the US feel they are entitled to everything. Hence all the bitching about gas (which adjusted for inflation is not that expensive) and consumers consuming their ways into extreme debt.
|
I need something to bitch about now that the elections are over
|
You do realize that gas/oil prices doesn't just effect car fuel prices right? It effects the economy as a whole since oil/gas/fuel is used by most industries that are still within the US.
P.S..my fuel prices jumped $0.70 within the past two days...this should be fun. |
Consider someone making $10/hour. That is $400/week. $340 or so after taxes, I think. Say it takes $50/week to fillup (that's what it costs me). So now he is paying 15% of his paycheck for gas.
|
cause they're driving 5 MPG gas-guzzlers, but hry, they look pimp.
|
The question is who will you sue this time? they didnt put up a sign about the new price did they?

PS. I have nothing against the Accent, it's a great car for the $6999 price tag. :thumbsup |
Joel, good theories but not practical. If all people could sell their high MPG vehicles and rely on public trans instead your theory is perfect. Most of America is not urbanized, public transportation is spotty at best in most places.
Prices will normalize, at least I hope that they do. You can't change a culture overnight, not with out major disruptions to the economy. $1.50 for regular was already ridiculous. To now be paying $3.00 is organized crime. |
I dont drive the hyandi accent anymore :) I drive a brand new 2005 toyota Corrolla S

You'd be right and justified if it had grown with inflation like it had in other places. Keep in mind though that not all consumables or real property grow in accordance to the same inflation rate as the economy on the whole. The national inflation rate is reflective of the economy, not directive, it uses aggregate data to get a summarized picture of the growth of the economy on the whole. Gas didn't need to rise in accordance with other items because of technology. Demand and supply. American interest in foreign oil. Many factors. So again, what people pay in other countries is irrelevant to the US. |
Oh and BTW, Every single Gas company posted 37% increased profits over the past quarter....that just seems wrong to me...
