The moratorium was great to spur initial e-commerce growth, but you know the states are considering that uncollected annual sales tax as lost revenues...

Sales tax is a nightmare for brick and mortar retailers. 'Hard to imagine how difficult it will be to do online - would be interesting to see how someone like Sharper Image views this - a company with huge retail and catalog sales AND strong online sales...

well it was bound to happen, too many orders now getting placed online, imagine the money the tax guys were losing

The big chains want this since they have to charge tax. It's a nightmare though since each county can have different tax rates. They need to make a state tax and that be it for the whole state.

Its a good thing greed and stupidity will keep them arguing for years. I really cant see how they will get this to work.
