setting up an affiliate program!?

hey peeps

the pros of setting up an affiliate scheme is obvious. But what are the cons that i need to look out for??

thanks in advance
tony

The cons would be counting the money that your affiliates are working hard to earn you and themselves :)

Stress is one of them.

Honestly... maybe Im just lucky but my affiliates rarely cause me stress.
Every now and then I get an asshole but for the most part they're allright.

I agree .. never stress unless someone needing something fast with little notice stresses you out ... but our affiliates give us great feed back and really help to improve the program as a whole ... :thumbsup

Just start out small, minimize the drama. Use CCBill's in-house kiddie system while building out your galleries, promo gear, tours, etc. Get feedback from the small numbers of affiliates you'll have initially, make changes, etc.

It's all hard work, but lately a few affiliate programs started out trying to be NastyDollars out of the gate, and it overwhelmed them. One brick at a time, and research research research.

It takes tons of investments and many many hours of working. It's really a 24/7 job :)
